The Technology Learning Center Online is developed for and by FNSBSD teachers to enhance teaching and learning through the effective integration of technology tools.
Welcome to Technology Learning Center Online (TLC Online). This table below shows some of the content included to help teachers integrate technology tools to enhance teaching and learning:
This site is organized to be a useful tool for teachers to access a wide variety of instructional resources, support for technology tools, and training resources for integrating technology into teaching and learning. This teacher oriented site is built using a Wiki called DekiWiki. A Wiki is server-based software that allows a group of people to quickly, easily, and collaboratively create, edit and link webpages. You may be familiar with the popular wikis : Wikipedia and Wiktionary.
A detailed guide explaining how to use the site is included in the How To Guides section.
Teachers and visitors can view content and navigate the site without logging in. At this point, the log-in button in the upper left-hand corner is for Instructional Technology Teaching staff. At some future time we may enable commenting and collaboration by teachers with their district ID log-in.
This site is organized into six major sections. These sections are listed below and in the main navigation menu on the left. The site content is hierarchichal, like an outline. Sections may include several sub-sections that are listed in the menu when the main page of that section is visted. A table of contents is included at the top of most pages that shows the structure of information for that section. The structure of the entire site can be viewed in outlne format on the Site Map.

The main menu will allow you to quickly and intuitively navigate through the TLC Online site. The three images on the right illustrate how the menu expands, collapses, and shows pages recently visited as you navigate the site's contents.
The first image shows the menu as it appears when you first log in to the TLC Online site. The home icon appears beside the TLC Online Home title(1). This icon will link to the home page from any other page.
Titles of the main sections appear with gray backgrounds below the home page. These sections reside at the same level on the site and are called "sibling" pages. A section that includes more pages hidden at the next level will have a right-arrow icon beside the title in the menu (2).
The second image shows how the menu expands when you visit a section that includes more pages at the next level. When you visit the "3. How To Guides" page, the menu expands, and the icon to the left of the section title changes to a down- arrow. (3) Except for the Home page, the title of the page you are viewing appears with a blue background in the menu. The "How To Guides" section is a "parent" to the "child" pages that are included in that section. Those sub-section titles appear in the expanded menu. These titles are indented and have a lighter background and smaller font until you visit one of the pages.
The third image shows the menu as it appears when you visit the "3.3 Mac OSX Leopard How To Guides" page (4). The "parent" page title "3. How to Guides" appears with the down-arrow icon (5), and the other "sibling" pages in that section appear, but the main section titles are now hidden. This site navigation scheme prevents the menu from becoming too cluttered as the site content grows.
You can return to TLC Online Home from any page in several ways: click "TLC Online Home" (1) on the TLC Online logo above the menu; or, click the Technology Learning Center graphic on the page header.
